Many firms of patent attorneys have been slow to recognise the importance of protection for the way things look, as opposed to how they work. Design registration has often been administered by patent attorneys on an ad-hoc basis, almost as light relief from their main role in advising on patent matters. However this ignores the valuable expertise of trade mark attorneys, not to mention the benefit of accumulating specialist design experience. Our design group has been assembled to address these issues in order to provide a far more thorough and comprehensive service. fJ Cleveland is registered at OHIM as an association authorised to handle Community Designs.
